Compensation

$20.77 to $21.87 per hour. Commission of up to 8% on transactions, average additional $3.79 per hour.

An entry‑level sales position in pawn store locations nationwide. Pawnbroker/Sales Associate partners with the store staff to ensure customer service on both lending and retail sides. Greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive, professional manner to process sales and loan activity. Handles inventory placement and works with all levels of jewelry and general merchandise, as well as all financial solutions offered to customers.

• Greet and interact with all customers to build rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions
• Perform non‑management open/close procedures
• Keep sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain the display of merchandise
• Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, practices and regulatory requirements
• Handle all cash and negotiable items in accordance with policies, procedures, practices and regulatory requirements
• Independently receive, evaluate, lift, carry, move, and secure customer merchandise for pawn, buy, and retail transactions
• Answer incoming calls per company standards
• Effectively communicate to customers the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools
• Partner with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience and work environment
• Successfully complete assigned training
• Other related duties as assigned

• Regular attendance and punctuality essential
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 18 years of age (21 in Washington State)
• Entrepreneurial spirit
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and work with people; team oriented
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
• Basic math calculation proficiency
• Cash handling experience preferred
• Knowledge of jewelry and general merchandise preferred
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills including verbal, non‑verbal and active listening
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent work ethic and strong business sense
• Ability to work at multiple locations as needed
• Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays as per business needs
• Computer literate and able to operate common office machines
• Ability to work with firearms as needed

Primarily indoors. Employees may be asked to assist customers on the exterior of the building within parking lots or retrieve products from exterior storage areas.

• Standing/Walking frequently during shifts while assisting customers at sales counter or floor and performing inventory, maintenance and operational tasks
• Sitting occasionally during shift to complete documentation, reporting and other administrative tasks
• Bending frequently employing proper mechanics while receiving, storing or selling merchandise
• Reaching frequently to retrieve merchandise from shelves, storage, carts and customers
• Walking frequently within the store as customers are assisted and stock retrieved
• Climbing frequently to access elevated storage locations, following safety procedures
• Kneeling occasionally

Requires safe lifting, carrying and moving customer merchandise during transactions. Must lift, carry and move items up to 70 pounds, with some tasks requiring immediate assistance. No regular tools are used; jeweller’s tools and other power tools are used occasionally. Chemical usage is occasional.

Occasional = 20% of time or less

Frequent = 20‑75% of the time

Continuous = 75% of the time or more
