Position SummaryTeaching foreign languages to high school students. Responsibilities include introducing and reinforcing key concepts, teaching students with significant emotional and behavioral needs in a clinical residential school setting, developing and monitoring Individual Education Programs (IEP) in accordance with Department of Education regulations and standards, and collaborating with the management team to ensure safety, stability, and professional guidance for residents.
Responsibilities- Teach foreign language curriculum at the high school level.
- Introduce and reinforce verbal, audible and written skills in elective languages.
- Provide instruction to students with significant emotional/behavioral needs.
- Develop and monitor Individual Education Programs (IEP) per regulations.
- Collaborate with management team for safety and professional guidance.
- Work part‑time, year‑round.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching or Education.
- RI certification as Teacher of regular or special education.
- Knowledge base in subject matter (Art, Physical Education, Science, Math, English, History).
- Experience with children with behavioral/psychiatric challenges.
- Proficiency in operating medical record software, hardware, word‑processing, and database programs.
- Spanish speaking preferred with compensation.
- Flexible schedule including some evenings.
- Excellent multitasking and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual/ASL skills compensated by additional 6% above base pay.
- Multilingual skills compensated by additional 8% above base pay.
- Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, registration, and auto insurance.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Travel to community locations and office site, including use of walkways, stairs, and elevators.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Provide emergency coverage; ratio to programs as needed.
- Be trained in and implement de‑escalation techniques utilizing Handle With Care when necessary.
