Principal Planning Officer
Salary: £45,091 – £49,282 per annum
We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced, and passionate Principal Planning Officer to join Devon County Council’s planning team. The role focuses on minerals and waste policy and will play a key part in developing the new Minerals and Waste Plan.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver minerals and waste policy, including the new Minerals and Waste Plan.
- Support development and infrastructure delivery across all planning domains.
- Manage policy, development management and infrastructure delivery activities.
- Build trusted relationships with communities, stakeholders and councillors in a political environment.
- Communicate complex issues clearly to diverse audiences.
- Foster an inclusive working culture and support professional development of team members.
- Strong planning knowledge with relevant professional experience.
- Organisational, leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work confidently in a political setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
