Quality Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection of all incoming material; perform in-process and final inspections, as required; maintain calibration pool of test equipment and tools.
• Work with Quality Assurance Management to plan and prioritize projects that are in accordance with the objectives and strategic plans of the company.
• Follow established department and laboratory procedures to accomplish tasks using proven methods. Where opportunities exist, suggest improvements to departmental procedures to achieve company objectives with improved efficiency.
• When appropriate, coordinate supply base and third parties to sort, rework or otherwise remedy components, assuring compliance to requirements and ongoing production.
• Perform inspections of electrical components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, and integrated circuits.
• Perform mechanical inspection using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines and various other inspection tools.
• Perform in-process inspections of printed wiring assemblies to IPC-A-610 standards and harnesses to IPC-A-620 standards.
• Perform other inspections including glass, paint, chemicals, STC installation kits, and printed wiring boards.
• Perform final inspection of products data packs, s and revision levels.
• Perform calibration of mechanical and electrical tools both internally and externally.
• Coordinate monthly tool recall.
• Must be able to input data into spreadsheets and databases.
• Develop and maintain a working climate which increases personal satisfaction and enhances productivity and quality of work through the achievement of departmental and IA objectives.
• Foster effective working relationships with Quality, Purchasing, Engineering and other personnel at all IA locations. Tap into company expertise to assist with problem solving and product knowledge.

• High School education or equivalent
• Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
• Must be familiar with mil-spec/industry equivalent workmanship requirements
• Must have excellent communication skills in English coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing work environment; electronic packaging environment is preferred.
• Working knowledge in computer sciences to operate in a Windows environment.
• Working knowledge of various quality control systems such as ISO
  9001 / AS9100, 14 CFR Part 21, SPC, TQM, etc.
• Working knowledge of J-STD-001 and IPC A-610
