Position: CNA Days

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled 12‑hour day shifts in long‑term care. The NA provides resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Responsibilities include supporting basic health‑care needs, such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and recording vital signs; assisting with transfers, repositioning, walking, and range‑of‑motion exercises; preparing food and facilitating meals;

documenting resident interactions; communicating changes in resident condition to charge nurses; and participating in caregiving and recreational programs. The NA may assist nursing staff with procedures and administrative tasks, and may serve on departmental committees or task forces as needed.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum age of 16; prior nursing‑assistant experience in long‑term care preferred
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification within four months of start date or enrollment in a state‑approved training program
  • Successful completion of annual competency testing and maintenance of continuing‑education credits (minimum 12 hours per year)
  • Certification with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry if applicable to the state
