Overview
The Quality Control Inspector must own and is responsible for ensuring products meet or exceed established quality standards through inspections, testing, and compliance requirements. This applies to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of company and product strategies, systems, and processes supporting printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), sub-assemblies, and finished products within a high-mix, low-to-medium volume contract manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction across multiple programs and industries.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on technical expertise, a disciplined approach to problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, production, quality, and supply chain teams. The main goal is to build quality into the product.
ResponsibilitiesQuality
- Inspect and analyze products to provide adjustments and assessments for improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results so data trends can be established for improvements as well as to mitigate risk.
- IPC-610 certification is a requirement.
- Knowledge of ISO
9001, ISO
13485, AS9100 and ITAR are essential and beneficial. - Identify areas for improvement, based on data, and suggest corrective action (CAPA) to improve product or process quality.
- Define quality coverage requirements based on customer specifications and manufacturing risk.
- Suggest and define quality improvements and tools via Incidents and Opportunities.
Manufacturing Support
- Inspect and sometimes test products.
- Conduct required inspections on material, parts and finished product to identify defects that do not meet Industry, Regulatory or Customer requirements.
- Utilize measuring tools wherever needed to ensure design requirements and quality standards.
- Identify, reject, and record all defects that do not meet the quality standards and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide hands-on support to production operations, including identifying defects and resolving yield issues.
- Ensure quality standards are met for NPIs as well as Production.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions (CAPA) for quality-related defects.
- Improve quality throughput, coverage, and robustness to support on-time delivery.
- Support first article builds, pilot runs, and production ramp activities.

Customer & Program Support
- Interface with customers to clarify quality requirements, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
- Participate in and provide feedback to improve manufacturability.
- Support customer audits, reviews, and technical discussions related to quality.
Quality Improvement & Documentation
- Establish, maintain quality documentation, and defect data reports.
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce cost, cycle time, and escapes.
- Support quality initiatives including control plans, and corrective actions.
- Serve as a quality mentor to the production personnel.
- Promote quality practices and standardization across platforms and programs.
- High School Diploma or Greater
- 5 to 7 years of Quality Control experience in an EMS / contract manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of PCBA inspection and quality methodologies (CAPA, DMR, KPIs, OTD).
- Proficiency reading BOMs, and technical documentation (Assembly Instructions, Customer Specifications, etc.).
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience in a production environment.
- Teamwork attitude to enforce quality directives.
- IPC-610 certification is a requirement.
- Knowledge of ISO

13485, AS9100 and ITAR are essential and beneficial. - Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume manufacturing.
- Experience with Windows Office
- Exposure to regulated industries (medical, industrial, aerospace, or automotive)
- Prior involvement in NPI and Production Product Improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail is a must that encompasses observational skills to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Proficient using quality control standards, as well as data analysis software.
- Proven QC Inspector with clear technical communication and documentation ability.
- Customer-focused mindset with Team approach.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple programs simultaneously.

- Occasional extended hours to support production needs and customer commitments.
- Open to other tasks based upon Manager’s request.
