The Opportunity:Leading the Transition
Sixth grade is a milestone year. It is the bridge between the foundational years of elementary and the independence of middle school. We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate Teacher who specializes in this unique stage of development—helping students transition from "learning to read" to "reading to transform."
As part of the Ferguson-Florissant "New Chapter," you won't just be teaching 6th graders; you will be helping them find their voice in a larger world. If you are an educator who thrives on building confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking in young adolescents, your next chapter starts here.
Role SummaryAs a 6th Grade Teacher, you will lead a classroom within one of our two dedicated 6th Grade Centers. You will facilitate a rigorous, student-centered environment that focuses on analytical reading, narrative and expository writing, and collaborative discussion. Working as part of a specialized 6th-grade team, you will help students navigate their first year of a departmentalized schedule while maintaining a strong sense of community and support.
