Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to support our Flint and Warren hospital locations in providing patient care second to none. Duties include hospital rounding, recording patients medical histories, performing physical exams, administering diagnostic tests, and creating patient care plans. You will also be a first assist in the operating room for neurosurgical and orthopedic surgeries. This position does involve some call and weekend duties.

- Interview and examine patients to determine a diagnosis
- Perform first assist duties in an operating room
- Provide pre- and post-op care to surgical patients
- Hospital rounding on surgical patients and surgical consults
- Perform physical exams and patient observations
- Consult with healthcare professionals and families
- Order tests to ascertain the nature and extent of illnesses and injuries
- Administer and analyze diagnostic tests
- Monitor and operate medical equipment
- Diagnose health issues
- Record patients medical histories and symptoms
- Maintain patient records and provide documentation for insurance companies
- Create patient care plans and contribute to existing ones
- Detect changes in patients health and modify treatment plans as needed
- Train patients and their families to manage and prevent illness and injury
- Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Master s degree from an accredited nursing program
- Previous experience within the field or a related work environment is preferred
- RN licensure in the state where employed or a compact party state and board-certified by either ANCC or AANP
- APN authorization in the state where employed to practice in family health by the Board of Nurse Examiners
- Prescriptive authorization
- Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment is required to perform your work
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology
- A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of disease prevention
- Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy
