The Construction Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across all construction sites within the organization. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs that align with OSHA standards and regulatory requirements. The coordinator will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and workers to identify potential hazards and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

By conducting regular site inspections, safety audits, and training sessions, the coordinator ensures continuous improvement in workplace safety culture. Ultimately, this role aims to minimize risks, promote health and safety awareness, and maintain compliance with all applicable safety regulations throughout the construction process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
    Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working in construction safety or a related role with a strong understanding of OSHA standards and compliance requirements.
  • Certification such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health or equivalent safety certification.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations applicable to construction sites.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and collaborate with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
  • Experience with safety management software and incident reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and accident investigation techniques.
  • Previous experience coordinating safety on large-scale or multi-site construction projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide safety training and education to construction workers, supervisors, and management to promote a culture of safety.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into all phases of construction projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation.
  • Stay current with changes in OSHA regulations and industry best practices to update safety protocols accordingly.
