Position: 2nd Shift Museum Attendants (Part-Time/OPS)

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Assisting guests while ensuring a high level of customer service.
• Working a variety of assigned posts and events on the museum grounds and buildings - primarily at the Center for Performing Arts.
• Patrolling buildings and 66-acre grounds on foot and by golf cart.
• Preserving the safety of staff, visitors, and the protection of the collection, buildings, and grounds.
• Monitoring for suspicious activity, potential hazards, or safety issues.

As needed this role:

• Occasionally utilizes computers to write reports, send correspondence, and submit work orders.
• Handles emergencies such as medical situations, fire alarms or emergency evacuations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to:
  • Stand and walk for long periods
  • Ascend/descend stairs
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
• Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain prior to hire
  • Driver's Permits are not allowable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Experience in a museum or non-profit organization.
• Prior experience in approaching work and interaction with colleagues and/or students.
• Ability to promote a welcoming work/education environment.

Anticipated Salary Range

$15.96 per hour (28 hours a week)

Working Hours

• Shift runs from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM with a half hour meal period.
• Weekends, days, or holidays are required based on the needs of The Ringling.
• Eligible for $5.00 per hour pay additive for working special events.
