Minimum Requirements- Two years or more of paraprofessional experience in a position where the major responsibility was determining eligibility, conducting interviews, providing counseling, recruiting, billing, or collecting accounts, checking credit, processing insurance policies or claims, or providing customer service.
- OR an associate’s degree.
- OR 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college can substitute for the experience.
- Minimum of two years of processing experience in the ESS program as an Economic Self‑Sufficiency Specialist I or II (Eligibility Specialist I or II).
- Must be willing to travel.
A skills assessment test will be administered as part of the application process for this position.
Job DescriptionThis role involves supervising Economic Self‑Sufficiency Specialists. The primary duties include communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employee performance; planning and directing their work; and leading the team to enhance customer service and achieve agency goals. Applicants should possess excellent people and computer skills.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of policies and procedures for all ACCESS programs.
- Knowledge of interviewing techniques.
- Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data.
- Knowledge of applicable mainframe systems and software applications.
- Skill in operating a personal computer.
- Ability to supervise people.
- Ability to coordinate the operations and activities of a unit.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex information concerning policies and procedures related to ACCESS programs.
- Ability to develop and deliver public presentations.
- Ability to investigate complaints.
- Ability to meet and deal with the public in a variety of situations.
