Job Summary
The Community Pharmacy Technician II supports all aspects of the prescription preparation process including compounding, preparation, and dispensing. This also includes greeting the patient, collecting information, entering patient data, processing claims, and referring inquiries that are out of the scope of the PDT’s license to a supervising pharmacist. The Community Pharmacy Technician II assists in maintaining pharmaceutical inventory and supplies through ordering, receiving, stocking and record keeping.
Community Pharmacy technicians work under the direction supervision of registered pharmacists. Pharmacy technicians do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Florida registered pharmacy technicians are governed by Section 465.014, Florida Statutes, and Rule 64B16-26.103, 64B16-350, 64B16-26.351, 64B16-27.410, 64B16-27.420 and, Florida Administrative Code.
Pharmacy
Responsibilities- Support all aspects of the prescription preparation process including compounding, preparation, and dispensing.
- Greet patients, collect information, enter patient data, process claims, and refer inquiries outside the PDT’s license scope to a supervising pharmacist.
- Maintain pharmaceutical inventory and supplies through ordering, receiving, stocking, and record keeping.
- Work under the direction and supervision of registered pharmacists.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing pharmacy technicians in Florida.
- Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to obtain level 2 AHCA clearance.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a Pharmacy Technician role within SMHCS or a comparable organization.
- One (1) to three (3) years of recent, community pharmacy practice experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication.
- HS EQ:
High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
- Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Intern license (as applicable).
