Skills Needed: Educational and Skills Requirements:
• Must have experience working in a complex organizational environment, and must understand labor relations, military operations, and the Military Health System, TRICARE and VA as it pertains to the RC. They may, with COR approval, serve as the administrative point of contact for a variety of psychological health related programs, facilitate, track and report results, and be the liaison with other behavioral health programs, Boards and directives. DPHs coordinate and consult with RC leadership on all behavioral and psychological health initiatives and policy. They plan and coordinate regional behavioral health related meetings and provide verbal reports of significant matters resulting from meetings or other events to COR within one day and provide written summaries within one week.
• Shall hold a master’s and/or Doctorate degree in a clinical or administrative mental health field from an accredited college or university recognized by the corresponding professional association(s).
• Shall have a current state license or state certification as a mental health practitioner (e.g. social worker, clinical psychologist, marriage and family counselor, and professional counselor) in the state(s) where practice takes place. If such licensure/certification is not available in that state, the individual shall hold appropriate certification from a recognized national certification organization or board.
• Assigned to perform services related to clients in other states, e.g. telephonic counseling, assessment, referral, and follow-up must be licensed or certified in the state where he/she is physically located and have adequate knowledge of the state laws governing mental health issues and clinical practice for the population they are serving. Clinical supervision and consultation must be available and used to ensure adequate knowledge of state laws is appropriately integrated into the delivery of services.
• Shall be able to practice at the independent level without requiring state mandated clinical supervision. In rare cases, requests for waiver of this requirement will be approved at the discretion of the COR when the Contractor certifies that state mandated clinical supervision is in place and maintained, and that appropriate progress is being made to meet state requirements for practice at the independent level.
• Shall have demonstrated capability to complete accurate bio-psycho-social assessments including substance abuse assessments and ability to participate in RC sponsored TBI and PTSD training.
• Shall have or be covered by professional liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence; $3,000,000 aggregate.
• Shall have a minimum of five years of clinical or administration mental health care experience after receiving the qualifying graduate degree for this position.
