Project Engineer II
Location:
US Air Division, Fort Smith, AR
- Responsible for design and the full product‑life cycle.
- Reviews project plans, proposals, and objectives.
- Creates, evaluates, and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Designs and conducts tests to determine project progress.
- Acts as liaison with department contacts to gain input and effectively communicates project status.
- Provides detailed test programs and guidance to assigned lab and design personnel in the conductance and documentation of product specific test standards. Evaluates data and makes recommendations.
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Complies with state and federal regulations and ensures a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of latest manufacturing technologies, techniques, and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace or related Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in product development related to specific product‑type equipment or related industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in application of thermo‑fluid modeling, analysis, design and development of products and systems.
- Must be hands‑on and have experience in working in a product testing lab preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability in working in product development teams and leading other engineers and lab technicians.
- Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis including statistical and uncertainty analysis.
- Demonstrated ability in designing experiments, interpreting experimental data, conducting analysis, drawing conclusions and preparing summary reports.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, and regulations.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in all business‑related software packages (e.g., MS Office), as well as experience with specific applications and programs related to design engineering (i.e., Creo, Solidworks, Pro/E, etc). Familiarity and/or experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software such as ANSYS‑Fluent.
- Proficiency in project management, materials, manufacturing processes and business processes.
- Working knowledge of new product and technology development processes.
- Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in hands‑on product design/testing/service of HVAC, refrigeration and/or electric or gas products such as appliances.
