Project Engineer II

Location:

US Air Division, Fort Smith, AR

• Responsible for design and the full product‑life cycle.
• Reviews project plans, proposals, and objectives.
• Creates, evaluates, and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
• Designs and conducts tests to determine project progress.
• Acts as liaison with department contacts to gain input and effectively communicates project status.
• Provides detailed test programs and guidance to assigned lab and design personnel in the conductance and documentation of product specific test standards. Evaluates data and makes recommendations.
• Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
• Complies with state and federal regulations and ensures a clean and safe environment.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of latest manufacturing technologies, techniques, and practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace or related Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in product development related to specific product‑type equipment or related industry.
• Demonstrated proficiency in application of thermo‑fluid modeling, analysis, design and development of products and systems.
• Must be hands‑on and have experience in working in a product testing lab preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability in working in product development teams and leading other engineers and lab technicians.
• Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis including statistical and uncertainty analysis.
• Demonstrated ability in designing experiments, interpreting experimental data, conducting analysis, drawing conclusions and preparing summary reports.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, and regulations.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency in all business‑related software packages (e.g., MS Office), as well as experience with specific applications and programs related to design engineering (i.e., Creo, Solidworks, Pro/E, etc). Familiarity and/or experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software such as ANSYS‑Fluent.
• Proficiency in project management, materials, manufacturing processes and business processes.
• Working knowledge of new product and technology development processes.

• Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in hands‑on product design/testing/service of HVAC, refrigeration and/or electric or gas products such as appliances.
