The Construction Superintendent is a vital leader responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on‑site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves managing labor, contractors, materials, and equipment while maintaining effective communication with project stakeholders. Housing is provided for out‑of‑town candidates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Maintain communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Team Leadership:
    Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, develop, and motivate a diverse team of construction professionals.

    Collaboration:

    Collaborative approach to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Contractor Relations:
    Maintain communication with vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to coordinate orders and deliveries.
Scope
  • Leadership:
    Motivate and guide project teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Team Meetings:
    Lead or participate in Owner/Architect/Construction Management Agent (OAC) meetings, trade contractor meetings, scheduling, and other coordination meetings.
  • Site Management:
    Supervise all on‑site activities, including mobilization, site access planning, staging, security, construction, closeout, contractor work, and material deliveries to adhere to project plans and specifications.
  • Site Organization:
    Maintain an organized and clean construction site, optimizing workflow and safety.
  • Schedule Management:
    Collaborate with the Project Manager to maintain and update project schedules, a 3‑week look‑ahead, and establish high priorities and milestones.
  • Contractor Management:
    Coordinate contractor activities, monitor performance, and ensure they meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Quality Control:
    Conduct inspections, verify work meets specifications, and address deficiencies.
  • Issue Resolution:
    Address project‑related issues and challenges promptly, keeping Senior Project Manager and/or Vice President of Construction fully informed.
  • Regulatory Standards:
    Ensure projects adhere to all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Construction Materials:
    Mastery of common construction materials, their properties, and uses.
  • Construction Equipment:
    Mastery of construction equipment and tools, and their proper usage.
  • Material and Equipment Management:
    Manage procurement, delivery, and tracking of construction materials and equipment.
  • Adaptability:
    Adapt to changing project needs, handling unexpected challenges and adjusting project plans accordingly.
  • Documentation:
    Review, expedite, and monitor project documents (reports, schedules, invoices, ASIs, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, daily reports, change orders, punch lists, inspections, closeout, correspondence, and presentations).
  • Report Generation:
    Prepare project status reports, updates, and presentations for project managers and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Implement best practices, lessons learned, and process enhancements to drive continuous improvement across projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance during normal business hours.
Knowledge
  • Construction Processes:
    In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Blueprint Reading:
    Mastery in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
