Job Description*** is helping an on‑demand, autonomous ride‑hailing company find a Wireless Validation Engineer to develop and execute comprehensive tests for vehicle connectivity systems.
In this role, you’ll validate mission‑critical wireless and network interfaces—including 4G‑LTE, 5G‑, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet—to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance. You’ll collaborate with design engineers and external partners to define test coverage, analyze results, and support continuous system improvement.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working hands‑on with RF and network validation tools in a lab setting. You bring deep experience with automotive or embedded wireless systems, proficiency with test automation and analysis tools, and the ability to troubleshoot complex network behaviours.
Responsibilities- Plan, develop, and execute system and unit‑level validation tests for wireless and Ethernet‑connected devices.
- Build and maintain test infrastructure, including network test harnesses, simulators, and automated scripts (Python, TTCN).
- Conduct performance, environmental, and reliability tests using oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and vendor tools (Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz).
- Validate network protocols (LTE/5G, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, IP) and collaborate with suppliers to investigate and resolve failures.
- Prepare detailed documentation, including test plans, results, and design reviews, and support regulatory and carrier certification (FCC, PTCRB/GCF, MNO).
- Develop and execute test cases to analyse the behaviour of wireless and fixed networks, including 4G‑LTE, 5G‑, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and IP.
- Draft and present detailed documentation, including design reviews, data reviews, and compliance test reports for international regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of professional, relevant work experience in electronics development.
- Hands‑on experience configuring and programming wireless test platforms (Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz) and testing/troubleshooting automotive Ethernet products.
- Expertise in Ethernet standards (IEEE 802.1AS, 802.11), IP network protocols, and 3
GPP 4G‑LTE / 5G‑ architecture. - Experience with Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth Classic/LE protocol and PHY designs.
- Proficiency with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, e‑loads, VNAs, and spectrum analyzers.
- Experience with regulatory conformance testing and analysing network diagnostics using tools like Wireshark and Qualcomm QXDM logs.
- Familiarity with Ethernet lab equipment (Ixia, Spirent) and associated software (IxNetwork, TTworkbench).
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Engineering.
- Experience with team/club competitions (e.g., SAE, FIRST, DARPA).
- Foundational knowledge of systems and networking (systems architecture, memory hierarchy, storage subsystems, routing).
- Experience with specific protocols (PCIe, CAN, SPI, I2C, MDIO) and Ethernet standards (IEEE 802.3x).
- Familiarity with specific chipsets (Broadcom, Marvell) and signalling (NRZ and PAM‑4).
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
- Experience with data acquisition systems (UEI or Keysight), requirement‑test case management tools (Polarion), and Atlassian products (Jira/Confluence).
