Job Skills / RequirementsSunstates Security has an immediate opening for an Operations Manager to help lead our Massachusetts region for the Framingham, Hopedale area. The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily functioning of security services for a portfolio of contract sites, including operations, customer service, personnel management, recruiting, administration and security & safety in accordance with Sunstates objectives.
This position offers a salary of $72,000 in addition to a monthly vehicle allowance and mileage, an annual performance‑based bonus, full medical, dental and vision insurance benefits, a 401k plan with company match, generous PTO, tuition assistance and more.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for:
- Training, developing, and motivating supervisory staff to effectively oversee all day‑to‑day operations of the site security personnel.
- Training subordinate supervisors on software systems, procedural guidelines, and company policies and enforcing consistency in policy practice.
- Enter weekly payroll into the payroll system.
- Confirm all billing is correct by reviewing weekly SAR reports, invoices, and communicating with accounts receivable.
- Review weekly scheduling and set up schedules in advance.
- Control all unbillable overtime and reduce overtime percentages weekly and meet company overtime goal.
- Conduct regular in‑person meetings with clients.
- Respond to personnel concerns and resolve them promptly.
- Coordinate with the Regional Manager and Regional Director to establish regional goals and objectives.
- Work with sales and marketing to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Conduct interviews, hire, and complete the employee onboarding process into the system, including collecting new‑hire paperwork and uploading documents for processing.
- Visit sites to follow up on employee training and complete employee surveys for new hires.
- Complete monthly required site visits and audits in accordance with the Quality Assurance program.
- Conduct weekly review of compliance such as security licensing, training and CPR and set up CPR training for new hires.
- Update security operations manuals.
- Set up security tour system and monitor security patrols.
- Acknowledge employees for outstanding job performance.
- Assist other managers with new start‑ups and covering PTO.
- Create schedules for new hires and manage team schedules.
- Attend and set up job fairs for hiring.
- Manage security team and provide support to security staff.
- Work on new service start‑up on new accounts.
- Communicate with customers on hiring needs.
- Communicate with the Sunstates management team.
The requirements for the Operations Manager include:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year college or university is preferred.
- 3 or more years of related management and leadership in the security industry, law enforcement or military.
- Experience in hiring, management and recruiting.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- Strong computer proficiency with MS Office products.
- Experience with scheduling software.
- Ability to travel to other areas to assist in start‑ups and operational needs.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel and regularly visit all site locations in the area.
