Mercury Plastics has multiple opportunities for Extrusion Operators across all shifts. The ideal candidates will have previous extrusion experience as an Operator or Setup Technician.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Extrusion process including materials such as PET and HIPS.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Able to work independently through entire process.
  • Ability to communicate technical information like pressures, temperatures, dimensions, materials, and other specifications.
  • Ability to use basic set of tools: tape measure, micrometer, utility knife, flashlight, etc.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift.
  • Ability to frequently move material weighing up to 60 pound from the machine onto a skid and load new material into the machine.

Position Summary: Extrusion Operators are responsible for the set-up and operation of the equipment to include process and quality accuracy.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform set-up and operation of extrusion lines.
  • Perform necessary changeovers, process checks, and quality checks to safely produce extruded plastic.
  • Determine material tolerance and measurements of sheet size.
  • Responsible for recording all process parameters during production runs with regard to pressures, temperatures, dimensions, materials, & other specifications.
  • Must observe all machine processes and ensure quality checks are performed at each stage of the process.
  • Ensure machine has adequate material to allow for continuous operation of production runs in an efficient manner.
  • Transport finished product to designated area via Forklift.
  • Follow production scheduled as provided and report any issues via protocol.
  • Follow all safety and standardize work instructions.
  • Participate in all safety training and comply with PPE guidelines.
  • Assists with basic Maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Completes 5S tasks and checklists as assigned
  • Employee may be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
