Outside Chemical Operator - Portsmouth

Advan Six is a manufacturer of nylon solutions, chemical intermediates, and plant nutrients. The role involves operating and maintaining production equipment, ensuring safety and quality standards, and troubleshooting process variations.

• Adhere to standard work and operating procedures to meet unit safety, quality, and production goals.
• Take and interpret readings on equipment, assess any variations, troubleshoot, and take corrective action to bring processes back to standard.

• Minimum high‑school diploma or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical plant environment.

• Preferred 1 year of chemical operations experience.
• Ability to work a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to perform the physical labor required by the job.
• Strong work ethic and initiative to learn processes.
• Ability to work at elevated heights (greater than 50 feet).
• Comfort with confined space work.
• Ability to maintain a safe workspace following standard work.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to take corrective action.
• Ability to handle highly hazardous chemical intermediates.
• Ability to wear full body PPE including acid suits, full‑face respirators, and hoods.
• Ability to load and unload bulk liquid chemical trucks and rail cars.
• Excellent communication across organizational layers.
• Computer literacy.

The hourly rate for this position is $28.00 to $31.67.
