POSITION OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will work on various aspects related to the manufacturing of custom UL508A control panels. This role is responsible for verifying incoming freight, receiving items, and maintaining accurate inventory counts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Verify incoming freight, FED Ex and UPS Shipments
  • Use receiving PC software—receive items and stock accordingly.
  • Count, examine and otherwise verify packaging and contents for conformance to company specifications.
  • Use various forms of computer‑aided information, maintain stock materials, create kitted carts of materials for shop floor consumption.
  • Responsible for packing and loading outgoing completed orders—This would be in the form of pallets and crates.
  • Must have good working knowledge and use of tools in order to build freight skids, or crates.
  • Be able to determine how product should be loaded and secured on skids or crates.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and productive workspace.
  • Follows all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Mechanical assembly of Lid Press machines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with shipping and receiving.
  • Computer Skills—Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain forklift/fork truck operator certification.
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with OSHA, manufacturer’s instructions, and company policy.
  • Understand safety rules and regulations in a shop environment.
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Sitting—up to 50%.
  • Walking—up to 30%.
  • Standing—up to 30%.
  • Reaching—up to 20%.
  • Lifting and/or bending—up to 20%.
  • Work environment—indoors and outdoors.
  • Able to lift up 50 pounds.
