Key Roles/Responsibilities- Costpoint Billing Analyst (Accounting II)
- L seeks a detail‑oriented Costpoint Billing Analyst to support billing operations for government contracts, including Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) and cost‑reimbursable programs.
- This role is ideal for an early‑career accounting or finance professional looking to deepen their expertise in government contracting and financial analysis.
- This position will report directly to the Assistant Controller and will work under general supervision at our Advanced Technology Research Facility in Frederick, Maryland.
- Prepare and review complex invoices in compliance with customer and contractual requirements.
- Analyze unbilled receivables and resolve billing discrepancies using Costpoint reports.
- Research and respond to internal and external billing inquiries.
- Collaborate with project teams, contracts, and accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely billing.
- Support collections efforts and help resolve outstanding issues.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger analysis.
- Prepare journal entries and financial reports.
- Evaluate and enter contract modifications and assess their accounting impact.
- Perform administrative responsibilities as necessary.
- Contribute to special projects and process improvements.
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
- Minimum of two (2) years of accounting‑related experience.
- Strong data entry and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- U.S. Government Contract experience, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Preferred: a minimum of two (2) years of general accounting with responsibility for general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, cost accounting, or accounts receivable.
- Previous experience with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Prior experience with Deltek Costpoint.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, research and resolution skills, and data analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate‑level Excel skills.
- Current Public Trust clearance.

Pay range: 59,600.00 – 87,633.00 USD.
