About Our Exciting Career Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and analytical individual with accounting and financial skills to join our team as a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will follow detailed and standardized procedures in performing required accounting operations. The Senior Accountant performs a variety of duties related to the Accounting/Finance department in accordance with Educational Systems Federal Credit Union policies and procedures, as well as, in compliance with all Federal, State and other regulatory agencies rules and regulations.
The incumbent responds to questions and/or provides information upon request from both internal and external members. The Senior Accountant processes requests/transactions, as appropriate, and maintains a high level of confidentiality when handling member-related issues.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Minimum of 5 years of similar work-related experience.
- Financial institution experience is preferred. Experience with Concur, Keystone and/or Prologue is a plus.
- Ability to function independently by exercising sound judgment on basic accounting principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment while maintaining a high degree of quality and accuracy.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point).
- Ability to function in a financial institution environment and have intermediate computer skills, including the ability to work within and toggle between multiple applications.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time and use a computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Leadership:
Will serve in a team lead capacity by providing training, coaching, and guidance as necessary to the Staff Accountant and Accounting Specialists. - Technical
Skills:
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Outlook, and Power Point) with advanced proficiency in Excel. Prior experience in amortization of Fixed Assets and Prepaid Expenses is required. High level of expertise in the use of various accounting and budgeting software is expected.
