Position: Teacher, Long Term Substitute ELA, Elementary (Current Opportunity) (EX)-St. John Regional Catholic School, Frederick MD
St. John Regional Catholic School, located in Frederick, MD, is seeking a qualified full-time long-term English Language Arts teacher.

The long-term substitute for Middle School ELA (7th and 8th grades) will be responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students during the teacher's six-week absence, from April 20, 2026, through June 5, 2026. The substitute will follow the curriculum provided by the principal and will plan, organize, and implement the instructional program within a Catholic school environment, where every child is recognized as a unique child of God.

Essential Functions

• Actively supervise students at all times.
• Respond to all parent communication in a timely manner.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
• Oversee the instruction of students.
• Follow the daily routine of the teacher and fulfill other duties outside the classroom, such as lunch and recess duty.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff, and administration.
• Interact effectively and respond to communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.

Position Qualifications

• Degree in education preferred
• Current MSDE certification preferred
• Knowledge of child development and effective supervision
• Experience teaching in a school setting
