Job Description
M.R. Electricians is looking to hire a Commercial Service Electrician to work directly with commercial and residential customers to provide high-quality, code-compliant electrical solutions throughout the DMV area. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and equipment in both commercial and residential settings, running calls independently while collaborating with the broader service team. You will also mentor an assigned apprentice, helping to develop the next generation of skilled electricians on our team.
Job Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and equipment in commercial and residential settings.
- Install conduit systems, feeder wire, and electrical panels.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide effective, code-compliant solutions.
- Identify and resolve safety hazards and code violations, ensuring all work meets the NEC and applicable Maryland and local standards.
- Repair or replace broken or faulty electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for both commercial and residential projects.
- Perform safety checks on electrical equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and the NEC.
- Train, mentor, and provide hands-on guidance to assigned apprentices.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with customers, team members, and the office.
- Maintain accurate job records, including work performed, materials used, and time spent.
- Acquire all materials necessary to complete approved service calls and projects efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professionalism, positive communication, and expert service.
- Identify and present additional service opportunities to support customer safety and satisfaction.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols, including the safe operation of a company vehicle.
- Valid Maryland State Journeyperson Electrician License (or a valid license from a state with Maryland reciprocity), with a minimum of 3 years of electrical experience. (Required)
- High School Diploma or GED. (Required)
- Strong working knowledge of the NEC and applicable Maryland codes. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics. (Required)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. (Required)
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test. (Required)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, squat, bend, and climb ladders. (Required)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. (Required)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. (Preferred)
- Experience with Service Fusion or similar field service management software. (Preferred)
- Wage Range: $28.00 - $48.00 per hour, based on skills and experience

Full-Time position
PayWage: $28.00 - $48.00 per hour, depending on skill and experience.
