Join a dedicated team as a Junior Archaeologist, contributing to vital environmental work. Engage in archaeological fieldwork and reporting, fostering safety and collaboration in diverse locations.
In this role with the Environmental Services Team, you will assist in fieldwork activities, including excavating test pits and identifying artifacts. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude will help you thrive in both team settings and independent tasks. This position offers flexibility, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities for travel in Atlantic Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in archaeological fieldwork and data reporting
• Conduct walkovers and excavate test pits
• Stake grids and interpret soil stratigraphy
• Record artifacts and prepare assessments
• Travel to various sites, including remote areas
Requirements:
• Preferred Master’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology
• Good driving record and valid license required
• Physically capable of demanding fieldwork
• Effective communicator with time-management skills
• Familiarity with GIS software is advantageous
