• Reliable and punctual attendance; expected to be at job as scheduled each day.
• Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
• Perform physical and mental assessment of hospital and emergency room patients.
• Initiate proper emergency care.
• Notify physician and family upon admission and report significant changes during hospitalization.
• Receive and carry out physician’s orders.
• Assist physicians with medical procedures.
• Ensure safety and correctly perform all nursing procedures within scope of practice.
• Know medication dosages, routes, and actions.
• Carefully administer prescribed medication.
• Reorder and stock supplies and medications as needed.
• Observe universal precautions, follow guidelines and policies.
• Recognize, initiate, and observe special precautions.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Identify patient needs, plan and implement care.
• Assist with patient mobility, hygiene, and ADLs.
• Ensure all records required for admission, consent, discharge, etc. are completed.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of assessments, vital signs, observations, and events.
• Remain courteous, while promoting healing and a holistic approach to patient care.
• Provide formal and informal teaching to patients, families, and staff within scope of practice.

• Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from an accredited school of nursing; or equivalent diploma or degree.

• Current unrestricted State of Colorado RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS. Must obtain TNCC within 3 months of hire.

• Minimum one year of ER experience required.
