Job Description:

This position is for the entire summer of 2026 (both A &

B) with the potential for continued employment but not guaranteed

Student employees within the Reitz Union must:

  • Be a current UF degree seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
  • Respond to and assist with emergency situations and building evacuations per department procedures or as instructed by building management staff
  • Possess exceptional customer service while maintaining a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced team‑oriented environment
  • Establish an exemplary work ethic by being productive, self‑motivated, and dependable
  • Participate in all scheduled meetings, trainings, and evaluations
  • Act as an ambassador for all Reitz Union areas as well as the University of Florida, providing accurate information and campus resources
Position Specific Responsibilities
  • Be available to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • Operates the automatic scoring system for bowling lanes and registers. Including money handling, credit card transactions, and the front counter area
  • Repairs bowling equipment, monitors Game Room for vandalism and functionality. Reports Game Room equipment failures to the Manager on duty
  • Responsible for general maintenance and clerical duties including: picking up trash as needed, returning equipment to proper racks, cleaning counter area, restocking forms, sharpening pencils, and answering phones
  • Communicates with managers problems that arise during shifts, equipment failures, and other issues that affect the smooth operation of the Game Room
  • Provide shift reports of daily activities, supplies utilized, and other relative information
  • Completes all training requirements upon being hired in a timely fashion
  • Ability to commit to working 10 or more hours per week
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Other duties as assigned

Advertised Salary:

$14.00/hour

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) or Federal Work‑Study (FWS) and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part‑time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

Summer 2026 (both A &

B) availability is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Although no experience is necessary to apply all training will be provided, we would prefer for all student employees to:

  • Previous experience with customer service
  • Proficient with verbal and written communication
  • Physically able to perform minimum tasks related to maintenance and repair of bowling equipment and machinery
  • Ability to handle credit card transactions correctly
  • Have CPR and First Aid Certified, or willing to obtain
