Senior Water Resources Design Engineer

Senior Water Resources Design Engineer – Gainesville, Florida

Our Water Group is recruiting a Senior Water Resources Design Engineer to work in our Gainesville, Florida location. This role focuses on stormwater, dredging, wetland restoration, permitting projects, and similar water resources initiatives.

• Engineer with a background in Environmental, Civil, or Agricultural Engineering needed with strong technical skills to deliver quality products to customers in an expanding marketplace.
• Conduct both field and office elements of projects.
• Conduct water quality, hydrologic, and groundwater models; develop water budgets; understand structural components related to water resources design improvements.
• Prepare erosion and sediment control plans.
• Using CAD, prepare design plans, construction bid documents, permitting documents, and conduct construction phase services.
• Work with staff on project tasks in a team environment.
• Strong commitment to the company's "Beyond Zero" safety program; follow company safety standards, site safety standards, and maintain safe workplace practices.

• Engineer with 5-7 years of design experience preferred.
• Minimum BS Engineering.
• Must have EI and be working toward obtaining the PE.
• Strong skills in water resources engineering, including environmental, water quality, hydrologic modeling, AutoCAD design and construction oversight.
• Specific knowledge of the hydrology and water quality issues of Florida.
• Understanding of climate change.
• Client relationships and project experience in Florida required.
• Experience with ICPR and HEC hydrologic and hydraulic models.
• Proficiency in using the Suite of MS Office products.
• Strong effective oral and written communication skills; proven ability to prepare reports and proposals.
• Attention to detail.
• Understanding and application of cost control, scheduling and risk management.
• Mentoring and motivating junior staff skills.
• Ability to travel locally and out of area as necessary; majority within Florida.
• Position located in Gainesville, FL office.
• Must pass background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's MVR policy.
