Position: Warehouse Associate II (2nd Shift)

Job Summary

The Warehouse Associate II is responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks, order picking, verification, and pallet preparation. The role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Duties
  • Practice incident and accident prevention, demonstrating safe behavior in all activities.
  • Obtain and maintain forklift certification through in‑house training and complete daily check sheets.
  • Troubleshoot work‑related issues and communicate with Maintenance and the Shipping Lead.
  • Work safely and maintain housekeeping standards in all work areas.
  • Prioritize work assignments by meeting with the Shipping Lead each morning.
  • Drive the forklift safely through the warehouse, mindful of pedestrian traffic.
  • Participate in cycle counting events and adjust schedule to meet inventory deadlines.
  • Ship according to FIFO principles and assemble pallets for shipping.
  • Ensure correct product delivery by reviewing packing slips and verifying product on trucks.
  • Wrap accessory pallets using turntables, adjusting height and tension as needed.
  • Verify product quantity for shipment and receiving by counting and signing picking slips and bills of lading.
  • Learn safety hazards and job procedures by reading and understanding job safety analysis (JSA).
  • Learn software programs by reading and understanding manuals and procedures.
  • Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures by communicating to the Logistics Manager.
  • Load and unload van trailers safely, using dock locks and chocks to hold trailers steady.
  • Learn hazardous material safety for spills and transporting material; earn and maintain HAZMAT certification.
  • Communicate any work‑related issues with the Logistics Manager or Maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as instructed by the Logistics Manager.
  • Review email and departmental communication daily and maintain a good attendance record.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all plant employees and other business contacts.
  • Use process improvement tools to drive continuous improvement of plant and business processes.
  • Follow and document Hazardous Materials Transportation Guidelines for all shipments.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a fast‑paced logistics manufacturing environment.
  • At least 6 months of GAF experience in a Logistics and Shipping position (Warehouse I).
  • Experience supporting logistics, customer care, and business goals.
  • General knowledge, skills, and abilities to respond to requests professionally and promptly.
  • Intermediate communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, organization, and reporting skills.
  • Independent problem‑solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety and highly self‑motivated.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and ability to work well unsupervised.
  • Excellent communication with all GAF employees at all levels.
  • Technical knowledge and advanced proficiency in GSuite.
  • Familiarity with standard warehouse concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced warehouse environment and safe forklift operation.
Physical Demands

This position requires frequent moving, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching. Tasks include handling, grasping, and communication. Coordination and repetitive motions are frequent. The role involves both stationary and dynamic physical activities typical of warehouse operations.

Compensation

Base hourly rate: $26.67 (exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses). Individual compensation offers will be determined based on geographic location, candidate experience, education, and qualifications.
