Position: New Grad RN Resident – Emergency Department (ED)

About This Role

The New Grad RN Resident in the Emergency Department at Cleveland Clinic is an excellent opportunity for recent nursing graduates to begin a career in a supportive environment. This role involves delivering exceptional patient care while participating in a comprehensive Nurse Residency program.

What You'll Do
  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care.
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate corrective actions.
  • Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
Requirements
  • Education:
    • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
    • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • New grad or less than one year of RN work experience.
    • If experienced, must have less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience.
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLs) certification required.
    • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) upon hire or within 24 months.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of hire.
