Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and assess patients with cardiac conditions using telemetry equipment, tracking heart rhythms and vital signs.
  • Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as prescribed, ensuring correct dosages and patient safety.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient status, initiating interventions such as medication administration, oxygen therapy, or notifying the physician.
  • Perform regular patient assessments, documenting changes in condition, symptoms, and responses to treatments in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac care, including post‑discharge instructions, medication management, and lifestyle changes.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Assist in preparing patients for cardiac procedures, ensuring they understand the process and are ready for surgery or interventions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of telemetry monitoring, assessments, and interventions in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment when handling medical equipment and providing care.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, fostering a compassionate and patient‑centered care environment.
Requirements
  • Current RN state license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a telemetry or cardiac care setting.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple patients and responding to changes in condition.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
