L1 Security Officer

• Ensures that all employees, clients, vendors, and visitors on company property have proper company‑issued identification.
• Patrols assigned post on foot to maintain visibility and observes possible unusual activity.
• Ensures that the client, its associates, and NTT Data Centre personnel are provided with a safe and professional work environment.
• Investigates, addresses if possible, and reports security, maintenance, and safety conditions.
• Maintains daily administrative documentation concise and complete at all times.
• Maintains assigned equipment functional and in presentable condition.
• Assists personnel with requests.
• Completes various company or client assignments as required.
• Assists with Shipping and Receiving tasks.
• Responds to emergencies, coordinates with local emergency management resources.
• Investigates and reports fires, evacuations, hazardous situations/other facility related events.
• Maintains familiarity of Security procedures and policies in addition to Company policies.
• Exposure to investigations involving security related accidents/incidents, interviews witnesses, complaints, and victims; gather and preservation of property.
• Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.

• Strong observational and surveillance skills, with the ability to detect and respond to security threats or breaches effectively.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules.
• Ability to remain calm in an emergency.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal methods with clients, vendors, and co‑workers.
• Ability to operate in a rigorous process‑driven team environment.
• Ability to logically analyze and solve problems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task.

• Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, highly confidential, fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Must be able to respond to emergency situations at the data centre.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays and be part of on‑call protocol.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Additional education or training in security‑related fields is a plus.
• Possession of relevant certifications such as Certified Security Guard (CSG) or Certified Protection Officer (CPO).
• CPR/First Aid Certification (can be obtained in first 6 months working for NTT).

• Basic experience with standard methods, practices, tools and equipment for the security team.
• Basic experience in security roles, preferably in a data centre or similar environment.
• Basic experience in the administration and operation of: access control systems, CCTV systems with digital recording, and photo  preferred.

This position requires work to be done onsite at a data center facility and may require use of a personal mobile device. A monthly stipend will be provided to cover expenses incurred for using a personal device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Hourly base salary for this position is $17.00‑$21.20 and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance to local state and federal ‘Wage and Hour’ requirements.

All regular full‑time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
