Operations Manager
We are supporting a fast-growing, international medical device manufacturer as they establish their first US operation.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who can help set up and run a small assembly, repair and fulfilment site from the ground up. The company manufactures specialist dental products used by dentists globally and is investing in a US operation to improve customer turnaround times, service levels and long‑term growth across North America.
The site will initially be small, practical and hands‑on (around 10 people on one shift), but is strategically important to the company’s US expansion.
The RoleAs Site Manager/Operations Manager, you will be the key operational lead on the ground in the US, responsible for establishing and managing the day‑to‑day running of the site.
The operation will include:
- Hand assembly of dental products
- Service and repair for customer orders
- Product adjustments and alterations
- Inventory management and basic logistics coordination
- Recruitment, training and management of the local team
- Implementation of SOPs, KPIs, quality standards and operating processes
- Regular reporting and communication with the company’s leadership team overseas
This is not a large, highly automated manufacturing plant. It is a hands‑on, greenfield operation where the successful person will need to build structure, solve problems, lead from the front and create a reliable operating model.
The ProfileWe are open to candidates from a range of manufacturing and operational backgrounds, including medical device, automotive, packaging, industrial products, electronics, consumer goods, fulfilment, repair/service centres or light assembly.
The most important thing is not the exact industry, it is your ability to lead people, build process and take ownership of a site.
You should bring:- Experience as a Site Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Production Manager
- Strong hands‑on leadership experience in a manufacturing, assembly, repair, service or fulfilment environment
- Experience managing hourly teams and frontline supervisors
- Ability to build and improve SOPs, KPIs, standard work and daily operating routines
- Strong problem‑solving, quality and process improvement mindset
- Comfort working in a small, fast‑moving and entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to work independently while reporting into an international leadership team
Prior greenfield or site setup experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
Why This Role? This is a rare opportunity to be the first US operations hire for a growing international business and play a key role in building its North American infrastructure.
You will have real ownership from day one, helping create the team, processes and operating model for a new US site. For someone who enjoys building rather than simply maintaining, this offers genuine autonomy and long‑term growth potential.
