Lead Precision Manufacturing in Houston, TX 77041
Step into a hands-on leadership role guiding a busy machine shop where accuracy, throughput, and safety are non‑negotiable. As our CNC Machining Operations Leader, you’ll orchestrate daily shop activity, keep production on schedule, elevate quality, and grow the capabilities of a talented team.
A Day in the Life You’ll kick off the morning by scanning WIP against the schedule, confirming priorities, and aligning resources. From there, you’ll coach machinists on best practices, partner with Engineering on tooling and process tweaks, and coordinate with Maintenance to keep spindles turning. Throughout the day, you’ll track KPIs, remove roadblocks, uphold safety expectations, and document results for leadership.
What You’ll DoOwn day-to-day machining operations to meet production targets and quality expectations.
Lead, mentor, and develop machinists while fostering teamwork and continuous improvement.
Create and refine machining methods, routings, and standards to lift productivity and efficiency.
Monitor machine health and schedule maintenance to reduce downtime.
Collaborate closely with Engineering and Production to optimize cutting strategies, tooling, and setups.
Champion safety compliance and cultivate a zero‑incident culture.
Analyze production data to spot trends, correct issues, and implement sustainable fixes.
Compile and present performance reports, quality metrics, and team progress to management.
What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
5+ years in machining operations, including 2+ years leading people.
Deep knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and shop equipment.
Proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop diverse teams.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a bias for action.
Clear, concise communicator—both written and verbal.
Working knowledge of machining safety standards and regulations.
