Purpose Statement

The job of teacher is to support instructional process by fostering and improving student achievement, supervising students, developing and delivering lesson plans, collaborating with teachers and staff, and responding to student and parent inquiries.

Essential Functions

• Adapt classroom work for individualized learning plans.
• Administer developmental testing and assessments.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and community resources to improve outcomes.
• Coordinate activities such as field trips and lesson planning.
• Counsel students for performance, health, and problem solving.
• Demonstrate instructional methods with individual student needs.
• Direct student teachers, paraprofessionals, volunteers.
• Instruct students to improve academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills.
• Maintain accurate records for grading and evaluation.
• Model appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
• Monitor students in various educational environments for safety.
• Organize age‑appropriate indoor and outdoor activities.
• Participate in collaborative team meetings.
• Prepare written materials such as grades, attendance, anecdotal records.
• Report incidents to maintain safety and adhere to policies.
• Respond to emergencies and direct to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to inquiries from teachers, parents, administrators.

Other Functions

Perform other duties as assigned to support work unit efficiency.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Apply assessment instruments; operate office equipment and software; prepare and maintain accurate records.

Understand basic math (fractions, percents, ratios); read technical information; compose documents; facilitate group discussions; analyze situations.

Schedule activities, collate data, work with diverse individuals; moderate problem‑solving with equipment and data.

Establish constructive relationships, adapt to changing priorities, maintain confidentiality, exhibit tact and patience, work flexible hours.

Responsibility

Work under limited supervision, direct others, track budget expenditures, and utilize shared resources.

Work Environment

Occasional lifting, climbing, stooping; 60% sitting, 15% walking, 25% standing; minimal temperature variations; hazard‑free setting.

Experience: Job‑related experience required.

Education (Minimum): Bachelor’s degree in a job‑related area.

State of Wyoming certification.
