SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

£85-£102 per day. September 2026 to July 2027. School based near Gloucester centre. Provide specialist support to pupils with Autism, ADHD and EBD.

The Role

Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural difficulties through a mix of 1:1 work, small-group intervention, and structured classroom support. You will help pupils follow routines, regulate behaviour, access learning, build confidence, and engage more positively with school throughout the day.

The Candidate

You are calm, observant, and able to build trust through consistency and clear communication. You want practical school-based experience, you can stay patient in a busy setting, and you are interested in how targeted support helps pupils with additional needs feel secure and make progress.

Requirements
  • Degree - A 2:2 or above in a creative subject.
  • Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children - Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Career Goals - A desire to pursue a career in educational or clinical psychology.
The School

This school based near Gloucester centre offers the chance to build valuable SEN experience in a setting where structure, patience, and purposeful support matter. You will work closely with teaching staff and wider professionals in a role that gives you direct exposure to day-to-day SEND provision, practical intervention, and the support strategies schools use to help pupils with Autism, ADHD, and EBD access learning more successfully.
