Vocational Assessor – Industrial Cleaning and Waste Management

Location: HMP Leyhill, Gloucester

Salary: £25k – £27k plus mileage expenses beyond normal commute paid

Hours: 34 hours per week, Permanent 4-day week Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm.

• Travel and workplace assessments:
  Assess learners in different workplaces within the assigned region.
• Provide guidance, support, and feedback to learners as they work toward NVQ qualifications.
• Collect evidence of learner’s skills and knowledge to demonstrate competence.
• Evaluate learners’ performance against NVQ standards and give constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of learner progress and assessment results.
• Plan and deliver training sessions.
• Provide training to learners to develop the skills needed for their NVQ.
• Participate in quality assurance activities.
• Ensure assessments are conducted according to awarding organisation standards.
• Collaborate with prison managers and employers.

• Assessor Award or equivalent (e.g., CAVA).
• Recent assessing experience (within the last six months).
