Summary
Controls Engineer (PLC / Automation) – Gloucester
Project:
Automation and motion control programming for manufacturing machinery.
Key details: 37‑hour week, alternating schedule with the first week Monday–Friday and the second week Monday–Thursday. International travel to client sites 4–5 times per year for 2–3 weeks.
- Programming PLC, HMI and motion control systems (Rockwell Logix, Safety PLC, Siemens).
- Designing and modifying controls from scratch for new and existing machinery.
- Collaborating with mechanical service engineers on site and resolving post‑installation issues.
- Managing travel to client sites and providing on‑site support.
- Experience programming PLC, HMI and motion control.
- Ability to develop control solutions from scratch.
- Knowledge of robotic applications is desirable.
- Flexible to travel internationally.
Annual salary: £50,000–£55,000 (DOE).
