Mechanical Engineer Intern/Co-op Fall 2026 - Energy Solutions

CMTA, a Legence company, offers a 2+ semester co‑op program for Mechanical Engineering students. The program provides hands‑on experience in Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs), covering project development, design, construction management, commissioning, verification, and ongoing energy management services.
The role includes:
- Assist in all aspects of the project development phase, including site visits, building audits, and energy calculations.
- Generate energy models and perform feasibility calculations for energy savings measures.
- Assemble organized sets of project drawings and documents.
- Collect and analyze energy data, often involving field verification.
- Work collaboratively with designers and professional engineers to develop all aspects of a project.
Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
- CAD experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to travel locally for field work.
