Job Overview

This posting may be used to fill multiple Custodian I positions on our Night and Weekend shifts. If you are interested in Day shifts, please apply to that posting to be considered. Candidates may apply to both postings.

Compensation and Shift Differential

Starting wage of $20.39/hour with a potential shift differential of 7.5%–20%.

  • Regular rate applies when work hours fall between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (no shift differential).
  • Second shift differential rate (7.5%) applies when half or more of the scheduled work hours fall between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
  • Third shift differential rate (14%) applies when half or more of the scheduled work hours fall between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
  • Weekend differential rate (20%) applies when more than half of the scheduled shift hours fall on a weekend shift. Weekend shifts start at 4:00 p.m. Friday through 6:00 a.m. Monday.
Shift Schedule
  • Night and Weekend

    Shifts:

    Sunday – Thursday, 5:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.
Responsibilities
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Clean restrooms and empty trash.
  • Dust and vacuum office/school areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and aesthetics of campus facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Six months of experience in custodial work or closely related work (sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, dusting, vacuuming). This experience must be substantiated within the Work Experience section of your application.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous relevant experience as a state employee.
  • Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
