Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) – Onsite, Goleta, CA

Location

Goleta, California, US

Job Summary

Provide technical and strategic support to all programs at Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS), supporting the Goleta factory. This role focuses on ensuring suppliers fully understand technical and quality requirements and leads corrective action and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities
  • Implement quality engineering responsibilities as a member of the Mission Assurance Integrated Product Team (MAIPT).
  • Travel domestically up to 35% of the time.
  • Serve as the point of contact for Mission Assurance, ensuring suppliers meet technical and quality requirements.
  • Lead supplier corrective action requests (SCAR) and continuous improvement activities using 8D, Six Sigma, Lean, and other improvement methods.
  • Manage technical relationships with key suppliers to ensure compliant materials are delivered on schedule.
  • Support incoming inspection teams and provide technical guidance to suppliers to drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with RVS engineering and manufacturing to fully understand technical and quality requirements of products/components.
  • Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross‑functional stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum of 2 years related professional engineering experience.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems: AS9100 or ISO
    9001.
  • Experience in AS9102 first‑article review and acceptance.
  • Proficiency with root cause & corrective action methodologies (RCCA, 8D, 5

    WHYs).
  • Availability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Six‑Sigma tools (PFMEA, control plan, MSA, Pareto chart).
  • Experience with statistical and metrics software (e.g., Minitab).
  • Experience with factory systems and software (e.g., SAP, Windchill).
  • Background in infrared industry, semiconductor processing, or Department of Defense industry.
  • Solid engineering and high‑tech manufacturing experience.
  • Experience executing and supporting PPAP, SCAR, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience with statistical process controls (SPC) and rolled‑throughput process data capture.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, material, and electrical drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with inspection and quality disposition of electronics, materials (ceramics & substrates), and mechanical components.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Security Clearance

Security clearance required: U.S. government‑issued secret clearance, active and existing, required after day
1.
