Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)
Location:
Goleta, California
Active and transferable DoD Secret clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory to obtain a security clearance.
What You Will Do- Assess and monitor system compliance, audit, and develop security plans while providing information systems security education and awareness.
- Investigate security violations and prepare reports detailing corrective and preventative actions.
- Review and approve configuration management requests within authority.
- Conduct technical and administrative assessments.
- Integrate new cybersecurity processes, procedures, and tools.
- Support creation, review, and update of cybersecurity documentation and other technical writing.
- University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Current IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+).
- Relevant experience (any combination):
- Cybersecurity, systems security, or hardening.
- Information Technology.
- Compliance-based auditing using RMF, DCSA DAAPM, JSIG, NISPOM, or non‑defense regulations such as FAA, PCI, ISO 9001, or HIPAA.
- Experience with databases, operating systems, network hardware, software, troubleshooting, or electronics.
- Physical security, police work, investigations, or Border Patrol.
- Project or program management, office management, senior administration, or account management.
- Experience in DoD classified operating or laboratory environments.
- Experience with security tools for vulnerability analysis and mitigation (e.g., Splunk, Forcepoint, Ivanti, Tenable, ACAS, HBSS).
- Familiarity with implementation of NIST, CNSSI, DoD, or other government regulatory compliance standards.
- Experience with RMF assessment and authorization processes.
- Technical security consultation for complex, cross‑domain, classified networked environments.
- Knowledge of large multi‑facility networks, including Windows and Linux environments.
- Experience interpreting, implementing, and assessing DISA STIGs.
- Experience with cyber incident response, preservation, containment, and eradication.
Salary range: 95,500 USD – 181,700 USD (good faith estimate).
