Position:
Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)
Location:
Goleta, California (Onsite)
Security Clearance: U.S. citizen with an active and transferable DoD Secret Clearance required at day 1
What You Will Do- Assess and monitor system compliance, audit, and develop security plans while delivering information systems security education and awareness.
- Investigate information system security violations and prepare reports specifying corrective and preventive actions.
- Review and approve configuration management requests within authority.
- Conduct technical and administrative assessments.
- Integrate new cybersecurity processes, procedures, and tools.
- Support creation, review, and update of cybersecurity documentation and other technical writing.
- University degree or equivalent experience with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years.
- Current IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+).
- Experience in cybersecurity, systems hardening, IT compliance‑based auditing using Risk Management Framework (RMF), DCSA Assessment & Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM), Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG), NISPOM, or non‑defense regulations such as FAA, PCI, ISO 9001, HIPAA.
- Experience with computer technologies (databases, operating systems, networks, hardware troubleshooting, electronics).
- Physical security, investigations, or border‑patrol related experience is considered a plus.
- DoD classified operating or laboratory environment experience.
- Experience with vulnerability tools such as Splunk, Forcepoint, Ivanti, Tenable, ACAS, HBSS, etc.
- Familiarity with NIST, CNSSI, DoD or other regulatory compliance standards implementation.
- Execution of RMF Assessment & Authorization processes.
- Technical security consulting for complex cross‑domain classified networks.
- Large multi‑facility network experience including Windows & Linux environments.
- Interpretation and implementation of DISA STIGs.
- Cyber incident response management.
