We have completed many turnkey and build-to-suit projects which include initial site design to office furnishings and everything in between. The principle owners of ONIT Projects Inc. have completed a portfolio of more than a dozen large projects successfully since its inception in 2015. These projects have been located as far east as New Brunswick and as far west as the Rocky Mountains.

TITLE OF JOB OFFERING:  We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as Construction Site Labourer, reporting to the Site Supervisor.

We are looking for a Construction Site Labourer with experience in commercial projects. The Qualities we are seeking are as follows:

- Able to read and interpret blueprints

Construction Site Labourer Responsibilities:
• Prepare building for the next trade as required including covering floors, scraping and sweeping floors
• On a daily basis, collect and dispose of debris at construction site, placing it in appropriate designated places, while ensuring compliance with waste recycling programs
• General site cleanup as required on a daily / weekly basis
• Make sure buildings are graded and safe for the exterior trades by ensuring buildings are free of debris
• Advise Supervisor when to contact garbage disposal company or recycle company for delivery and exchange bins when almost full
• Follow direction provided by the foreperson, lead hand or supervisor and complete work/ tasks as directed
• Review, assess and report any issues on safety to direct supervisor, including ensuring protective gear used/worn
• Move material, tools, and equipment on the construction site

• Competent to operate equipment with a valid drivers license

• Skilled in the operation and safe use of tools (hand, power, hydraulic)
• Help clean-up work sites and buildings
• Maintain and clean tools/equipment
• Maintain and ensure safe working conditions, follow company safety procedures and ensure site regulations are always met
• Site opening and closing with Site Supervisor or Assistant Site Supervisor
• Perform other duties as required
Position Requirements
High School,   1 to 2 Years work experience
Construction Site Labourer Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• 1-2 Years of construction site Labourer experience or similar is preferred
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, and how to use them
• Basic understanding and execution of light construction duties
• Ability to lift 80-100 lbs and work at heights (up to 50 feet)
• Work in all weather conditions – rain or shine, cold or hot
• Self-starter, proven time management skills, good attention to detail and problem-solving skills, always results driven and have a passion to take ownership and own results
• Ability to work independently and within a team and is willing to learn
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Experience with commercial projects
• Must be able to work in a multi-trade environment
• Physically fit with an ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• OSSA Fall Protection certification will be considered an asset
• Confined Space training will be considered an asset
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time
• Capable of climbing on ladders and carrying at least 80 pounds while doing so
• CPR & AED and first aid certifications will be considered an asset
• Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment
• Excellent organizational and strong multitasking skills
• Must have a commitment to safe work practices and be able to adhere to safety policies
• Reliable, organized and self-motivated individual who follows up and follows through
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving abstract
• Certified SCOT (Safety Construction Orientation Training)
• Working knowledge of computer application skills with proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, Microsoft Project, and having previous experience with Field Wire or an equivalent field management software platform for construction teams, will be a preferred asset

• Safety gear including steel-toed boots, vest, gloves, safety glasses
• Laptop to run Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Field Wire Applications
• Cell phone with 10 Megapixels resolution camera will be considered an asset
