Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS)
We are a company specialized in complex tank repair and construction nationwide. No two tanks are alike; thus each repair poses unique technical challenges. Our engineering staff are well-versed in API 650, API 653, AWWA D100, AWWA D103, API 12D, and other specifications.
We build and repair welded above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), bolted tanks, and related structures. We also inspect, install, and repair tank systems such as aluminum geodesic dome covers, internal floating roofs (IFRs), IFR mechanical shoe seals, liquid level gauges, fire protection systems, silo support structures, industrial storage tanks, and heating and insulation systems.
Day to Day Duties- Perform arc and torch cutting and gouging.
- Use generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools.
- Weld plates with 7018, 7024, and 6010 stick (SMAW), flux core (FCAW), and submerged arc automatic machines 3 o'clock and goat/tractor.
- Use come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment.
- Operate tank shell buggies, scaffolding, ladders, and specialty equipment.
- Perform vacuum box tests, oil tests, dye penetrant tests, and other non-destructive quality examinations.
- Use gas monitors, fresh air kits, respirators, emergency rescue kits, and other safety equipment.
- Operate forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and other large lifting equipment.
- Apply knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling).
- Read detailed erection and fabrication drawings.
- Plan sequence and methods for fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks.
- Complete job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training.
- Follow directions and work professionally with other crew members.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving ability with a willingness to suggest improvements.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn.
- Minimum age 18.
- Ability to lift 50 lb.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Willingly authorize background checks.
- No criminal convictions for dishonesty, sexual misconduct, violence, or acts of terrorism.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingly authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
- Willingness to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to weld is a plus.
