Job Description

Job Title: Attendance Clerk
Days/Status: Nonexempt

Reports to: Principal

Primary Purpose

The primary purpose is to maintain accurate attendance records for the campus. Perform data entry including attendance and Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data.

Qualifications

Education/

Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent;
Two years data entry experience.

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

Effective organization, file maintenance, communication, and interpersonal skills;
Proficient keyboarding skills and ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing;
Ability to operate office equipment.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into established database and verify accuracy according to established procedures.
  • Facilitate admission and dismissal of students according to established procedures, including issuing tardy passes and other forms.
  • Prepare and print reports and other documents as required.
  • Maintain physical and computerized records.
  • Assist parents, students, and staff with questions regarding student attendance.
  • Call parents to verify absences as needed.
  • Report all attendance problems to designated administrator.
  • Maintain attendance intervention log and prepare, send, and monitor attendance letters as required by law.
  • Assist in training and overseeing student and parent volunteers for attendance office.
  • Monitors the doors to the campus and allows access into the building.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as designed by District staff.
  • Assist in campus duty assignments as required.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned.
