Job SummaryThe Food Safety and Quality Manager is responsible for inspecting food processing areas to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local governmental regulations. Must ensure the facility abides by FFG-required sanitation, safety, and quality standards. This position drives corporate policies and procedures at the local level to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and third-party audit standards.
- Have working knowledge and understanding of food-borne pathogens; methods of cleaning and sanitizing to minimize risks.
- Have a working knowledge of HACCP concepts, SDS sheets, government, and industry FSQ codes and standards.
- Familiarize yourself with company standards, practices, and procedures.
- Communicate FSQ requirements to various employee groups.
- Can motivate and build a team.
- Cultivate a Food Safety and Quality Culture among all departments
- Have good communication skills both written and oral.
- Conduct audits of vendor facilities and product ingredients.
- Conduct management training regarding FSQ requirements to ensure compliance.
- Review reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and corrective actions to resolve deficiencies;
Ensure appropriate actions are taken on time. - Support corporate efforts to facilitate uniform quality standards for food safety quality.
- Audit “Good Manufacturing Process” training and compliance for the facility.
- Oversee that FDA and USDA standard requirements are documented to maintain compliance.
- Regularly audit that sanitation requirements are maintained in all areas of the facility.
- The Food Safety and Quality Manager is responsible for inspecting food processing areas to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local governmental regulations.

- Passing and improving audit results related to Food Safety and Quality.
- Achievement of corporate objectives for corporate policies and goals.
- Consistently set expectations and hold subordinates accountable to key duties and standard.
- Minimum of a B.S. Degree from a 4-year university; preference will be given to candidates with degrees in Food Science, Microbiology, Biological Science, or related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in the food industry
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Airline catering experience preferred
- HACCP certified, SFQ Practitioner, Serv Safe Manager and Procter, FSPCA certification preferred (must achieve certification within 6 months of start date).
This position may have supervisory responsibilities.
This job operates in a food manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
