Fabrication Operator

Overview

Armedica/Pivotal Health Solutions is seeking an Upholsterer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication, repair, and restoration of furniture, cushions, and other upholstered products. The Upholsterer works with a variety of textiles such as vinyl, leather, and fabric, ensuring that the end product meets company standards for appearance, quality, and durability. Attention to detail, the ability to follow design patterns, and a strong understanding of upholstery techniques are key in this role.

• Perform tasks with the safety of themselves and others in mind
• Ensure quality product while performing tasks
• Ability to read and understand basic measuring tools
• Stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to distinguish different colors and shades of fabric
• Layout and cut vinyl fabric according to the pattern
• Prepare cushion substrate for final upholstery assembly
• Prepare cushion foam for final upholstery assembly
• Use glue and other materials in a responsible manner to eliminate waste
• Sew vinyl material as necessary
• Stretch and staple vinyl to wood backing
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms
• Utilize Kanban system to restock depleted materials
• Inspect materials & finished goods in accordance with specifications
• Performs other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous upholstery experience strongly preferred
• Cushion stretching and stapling experience
• Vinyl pattern layout and cutting experience
