The successful candidate(s) must reside within a reasonable commuting distance and be available to work at off-site facilities as required.
Job SummaryProvides quality instruction that will contribute to the learning experiences necessary for each student to meet the objectives of the course and to be successful in both their education and career development experiences.
Essential Duties- Associate’s degree in dental hygiene for clinical/lab instruction OR Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene or related field for didactic course instruction.
- Active dental hygiene license in any state.
- Two (2) years of experience in a clinical dental hygiene practice.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Desired Qualifications- Possession of a personal liability insurance policy.
- Possession of an expanded practice permit.
- Possession of a restorative endorsement and experience.
- Possession of a nitrous oxide permit.
- Teaching experience.
- Community or volunteer experience in the dental field.
- Instructors must complete at least three (3) educational methodology courses each year.
- Instructors must complete at least 12 hours of continuing education each year in area(s) of instruction.
Work is typically performed in a classroom environment, including clinical labs which provide patient care. Some work may be performed while sitting at a computer terminal.
Salary PlacementInitial salary placement for Instructional Load Credit (ILC) Instructors will be based on applicable education and/or years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College, per the guidelines in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
Initial salary placement for all other newly hired instructors will be at Level 1.
