Contract & TenurePermanent contract, 1.00 FTE (0.50 FTE Physical Education, 0.33 FTE Health, 0.17 FTE Special Education)
CompensationAnnual salary range for 2026‑2027: $52,347 – $108,785 (192/193 day contract). Salary prorated based on FTE and start/end dates.
Specialty stipend: $2,000 (eligible if certified multilingual in Spanish, Arabic, Ukrainian, American Sign Language, or Russian; a standardized proficiency test must be passed).
Job SummaryThe Teacher – High School is responsible for developing students’ academic skills, implementing district‑approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, addressing specific educational needs, providing a safe learning environment, and communicating student progress to parents and administration.
Essential Job Functions- Help each pupil develop competence in subject‑matter skills and motivate them to apply knowledge to problem solving.
- Teach courses to secondary pupils using the Board‑of‑Education curriculum and state‑approved publications.
- Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional aids.
- Demonstrate concepts using models, chalkboard, projector, and other aids.
- Provide individualized and small‑group instruction to adapt curriculum to student needs.
- Design learning activities that relate subject area to the physical world.
- Maintain standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly classroom environment.
- Evaluate each pupil’s progress, prepare progress reports, and draft recommendations for scholarships and college applications.
- Perform basic attendance accounting and required business services.
- Plan and coordinate the work of aides, teacher assistants, or paraprofessionals.
- Communicate with parents, counselors, and other staff about progress and strategies.
- Identify pupil needs and collaborate with professionals to address health, attitude, and learning problems.
- Supervise pupils during out‑of‑classroom activities.
- Maintain professional competence through in‑service education and self‑selected growth activities.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
- Assist personnel as required to support completion of their work activities.
- Participate in meetings (parent conferences, in‑service training, site meetings, etc.) to meet credential requirements.
- Select and requisition instructional books, aids, and supplies; maintain inventory records.
- Participate in curriculum and developmental programs at the school or district level; may teach under modular or flexible schedules.
- Share in sponsorship of student activities and participate in faculty committees.
Job Requirements – Qualifications
Experience
:
Prior job‑related experience.
- Ability to motivate students, communicate with diverse populations, direct support personnel, and evaluate performance.
- Knowledge of age‑appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum, education codes, and instructional subjects.
- Physical abilities: stand and walk for prolonged periods; lift / carry / handle objects; maintain visual acuity; complete tasks within schedule and deadlines.
Bachelor's Degree.
Licenses, Bonding and/or Testing Required- Teaching credential appropriate for the level of instruction and subjects.
- Highly Qualified Status for the assignment.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid certificates.
